Giving Back
Our giving back to the community started in the 1990's where our first volunteer project was some design work for the Lovin Spoonful. This organization supplies nutritious meals for persons living with aids. The next year our charity of choice was the SPCA. Eventually we landed at the doorstep of the Surrey Food Bank. This is where we really found a home and a sense of belonging. We continue to help out the food bank with a variety of graphic, marketing and video services. We are honoured to have been given the opportunity to support this worthwhile Surrey based organization.
We have also actively supported PITCH-IN CANADA since our company's inception and continue to do so. Now in it's 40th year Pitch -In Canada could arguably be described as the progenitor of the Reduce, Reuse and Recycle movement in Canada.
Over the years there have been a lot of community based projects that we have played an integral part in.Sometimes pro-bono,sometimes at a reduced rate with lots of add-on's thrown into the mix, and always with a fair bit of volunteer time included for good measure. A partial list would include: DiversCITY community resources, Youth Arts Council, Literacy for Life, Coalition for Music Education, The Centre for Child Development, Stand up for the Arts campaign, The Surrey Foundation and a host of others.
Most recently, under the direction of Mr.Bruce Hayne we have been active in creating campaigns for the Surrey memorial Hospital Foundation. Including the outstanding "100 Days to Give" campaign where we helped in raising FIVE Million dollars with matching funds donated by Mr.Jimmy Pattison.
UPDATE: The Canadian Public Relations Society has recognized the "100 Days to Give" campaign in the Canadian Marketing Campaign of the Year category (Bronze).
Giving back to your community can also be a lot of fun! Our 5th annual "Blues for the Bank" concert held on Dec 5th 2011, featuring Mr. Hayne and Mr. Thornley and their band: Agent C and Top Secret held their raised approximately $2500 for the Surrey Food Bank. Perhaps you would like to join us next year?
